Still not sure what he is holding in his hand, to me it looks like a rifle with a flag attached to it (it could very be a flag pole) but I think it would be a lot more interesting if its a rifle with a flag attached to it, and the flag has some sort of symbol of power or family emblem

anyways your really nailing down all these characters pretty impressive
